Today’s “Currently Listening” post is a little bit different than the usual. Instead of giving the name of an album I’m enjoying, this delight to the ears is brought to you by the magic of Pandora.
For the uninitiated, Pandora is a radio streaming site that allows you to listen to music that is similar to an artist or song that you already know you enjoy.
On to the point.
The other day I was looking for music to accompany a glass of wine and a good book (“The Secret of the Strength”, by Peter Hoover if anyone’s keeping score) and on a whim typed the name “Dan Fogelberg” into Pandora. His hits include “Leader of the Band” and “Same Auld Lang Syne” and his style is very folky singer/songwriter.
The mix that resulted has been amazing. James Taylor, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, America, Jackson Browne, and many others make their appearance regularly and the music is delightful. It goes amazingly well with wine and theology, but I’ve also had great success in combining it with lesson planning, grading, and as background music for family dinner.
So follow the bouncing ball (click the link) below and enjoy. I hope you’re as refreshed and entertained as I’ve been.
(This link should work, but if it doesn’t just type in “Dan Fogelberg” when it asks for an artist or song and it should work just fine.)
